Please do not post anything:
- illegal
- deemed offensive
- misinforming or fraudulent
- copyrighted and unauthorised
- advertising alcohol or anything alcohol-related (bars, pubs, 'booze parties')
- advertising narcotics or anything narcotics-related
- advertising gambling or anything gambling-related
- displaying unauthorised personal information, defamatory or otherwise
- pornographic or adult-themed
Any such ads shall as much as possible, be removed. Be sure also to confirm the authentcity of any ad claims before engaging in any transaction. Neither AberdeenShare nor the site owner shall be held liable for such ads.
Beware of Scams
Whether you're looking to buy or sell products or services, you need to take extra care to avoid scammers and fraudsters out to trick you online.
Try to ascertain sellers or buyers' claims and details by requesting reliable third party references if you want to engage in online dealings.
Do not give out your personal details (card numbers, bank account details, etc.) when dealing online.
Play safe and if necessary ask for advice from your bank or other trusted sources.
Online scams are numerous these days and can take various forms. In general, scammers and fraudsters try to trick you into giving up valuable information they can profit from. Scams could take the following forms:
- suspicious ads asking for advance payment for products and services
- employment offers asking you to send your CV and personal details to unconfirmed, suspicious email addresses or websites
- buyers offering excess payments using fake cheques inorder to get sellers to send them the balance as 'change'
- fantastic offers for 'too good to be true' products or services
- transactions you never engaged in trying to get you to 'update' or 'confirm' your personal, account or payment details
- Etc.
To report any suspicious ads, just click on the 'Report This Ad' button on the ad's display page and send the report form. Have a pleasant, safe time.
